E-LEARNING SYSTEM BASED ON SMIL

An e-learning system based on SMIL(Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language) is provided to offer a mechanism for enabling leaner to understand and learn easily educational contents by learners by applying a project learning technique capable of interworking with markup language property of the SMIL. A media synchronizer simultaneously displays various media in one screen. A display unit displays the media integrated by the media synchronizer. A subject selector(100) enables the learner to select a desired subject. A chapter selector(200) enables the learner to select a desired chapter of the selected object. The selected chapter includes a contents selector(300) comprising learning guide, basic principle, main problem pattern solving, learning finishing, and branched problem solving. A lecture moving picture selected in the contents selector is displayed to a predetermined area of the display unit and a linker for the moving picture is displayed to the display unit. The linker is selected from a group including the moving picture, audio, video, an image, a slide, and text, which are displayed to the display unit in synchronization with the learning moving picture.
