PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for preventing a password from being stolen by phishing in the system for authenticating a user by using the password. SOLUTION: A server 2 transmits music information to a client 1 before executing user authentication using the password and the transmitted music information is reproduced in the client 1. The server 2 prompts a user to specify an arbitrary section of the music information to be reproduced in the client 1, acquires the section specified by the user as authentication phrase information and collates the acquired authentication phrase information. Then, the server 2 executes the user authentication by the password only when the collation of the authentication phrase information is successful. Since the music information is surely transmitted to the client 2 before authenticating the user by using the password, when the music information to be distributed is changed for each user, thereby preventing phishing to impersonate a regular server 2.
