PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an edging-press method of a slab by which the edging-press of the slab is appropriately performed by suppressing a camber which is generated when applying the edging-press to the slab on a hot-rolling line. SOLUTION: The amount tDs/tFs of wedge (thickness ratio) is measured with a wedge meter 30 provided on the inlet side of an edging-press apparatus 20; a bend angleθis predicted from the amount tDs/tFs of wedge and the amountΔW of edging-press and difference is made between the progressive speed Va of a die 21a on the drive side of a rolling mill and the progressive speed Vb of a die 21b on the free side of the rolling mill so as to negate the bend angleθ.
