PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact water-refrigerant heat exchanger used in a heat pump water heater and the like and having a high degree of freedom in layout in an appliance. SOLUTION: The water-refrigerant heat exchanger comprises a plurality of heat exchanging modules 4 respectively formed by integrally spirally winding a water tube 2 and a refrigerant tube 3, and the water tube 2 and the refrigerant tube 3 of each heat exchanging module 4 are connected with a water header 5 and a refrigerant header 6 in parallel with each other. As the refrigerant and the water exchange heat in a state of opposed flow, and are wound in the same direction, heat exchange between the refrigerant and the water is continuously performed, and the heat exchanging efficiency can be improved.
