PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface effect flying body capable of being flown from the ground/water after taxied/slid on the ground/water for a short distance and having a large load-carrying capacity. SOLUTION: In this surface effect flying body 1, wing bodies 3 which have a tip-pointed polygon shape and are long in forward and backward directions are arranged in both side parts of a body 2 having a wing-shaped vertical cross section in the forward and backward directions and including downward inclined both side upper edges. Tip parts of the wing bodies 3 are retreated from a tip part of the body 2, and rear edges are protruded rearward from a body 2 rear end part and located in a higher position. Front edge outer parts of the wing bodies 3 are provided on vertical slant faces along the body 2 and gradually twisted toward rear parts, and rear end parts of the wing bodies 3 are formed horizontally.
