PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which is prevented from being filled with heat due to a heat source of a heat roller and is capable of suppressing fluttering of a transfer member due to blasts generated by heat generation. SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus, the heat roller incorporating the heat source and a pressure roller brought into contact wit the heat roller are disposed one above the other and are brought into press contact with each other, and the heat roller and the pressure roller are covered with an upper housing and a lower housing, which are made of plastics, with a transfer material passage part as a boundary except a paper passage part which a transfer material running in a contact part between both rollers passes, and a tabular heating body 18 is provided in a ceiling part 17 of the upper housing approximately in parallel with the passing transfer material.
