<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system in which a cathode potential is made to be reduced in power generating a low load, in which deterioration of a cathode material is suppressed, and in which water clogging of a gas flow passage is prevented, and that driving method. <P>SOLUTION: This is provided with a fuel cell power generating part (1) provided with a cell stack constituted by connecting in series a plurality of cells having anodes and cathodes, oxidizer supplying means (31 to 33) to supply an oxidizer to be input to the cathodes, low oxygen concentration gas supplying means (35, 36) to mix the low oxygen concentration gas (nitrogen gas) of oxygen concentration of approximately 21% or less with the oxidizer, and a cell voltage measurement control part (10) in which the average cell voltage is calculated by measuring the voltage of the cell stack, and in which in the case the obtained average cell voltage is larger than a prescribed threshold voltage, the low oxygen concentration gas supplying means (35, 36) are controlled so as to mix the low oxygen concentration gas with the oxidizer and to input it into the oxidizer supplying means (31 to 33). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
