A display processing device is provided to secure minimum necessary functions for display of characters, figures or images by means of scalable font data of a small capacity memory means even at a time when a large capacity memory means cannot be used. Pre-rasterize bit map data (BMP) and scalable font data (SDC) are stored in separate memory means, so that the scalable font data (SCD) of a flash memory (23) can be used to secure minimum necessary (or some degree of ) functions for display of characters, figures or images even at a time when a hard disc drive (24) cannot be used.
