USE OF LACTOFERRIN AS A CHEMOKINE AND A CHEMOTACTIC MODULATOR

The present invention describes the use of chemotactic modulators to treat diseases with a chemotactic, immune or inflammatory compontent. The invention also describes the novel use of lactoferrin to modulate the movement or migration of cells and the immune system through its ability to function as a chemotactic modulator by either directly acting as a chemokine or by modulating chemotactic activity either through the induction or inhibition of other chemotactic modulators or by any other means. The use of this constellation of properties to treat diseases with a chemotactic, immune or inflammatory component is envisaged.
