A fluid filter comprises a filter casing having an inlet end at which a flui d to be filtered is introducible, an outlet end and a filtration channel, a plurality of fibres extending longitudinally inside the channel, the fibres being expandable in a direction perpendicular to their length in response to an increase in pressure to create a pinch area between the fibres and an inn er surface of the filtration channel.
