PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeding device which simplifies a shape of a distal end restriction means for restricting a distal end in a feeding direction of a sheet material while enhancing reliability such as breaking prevention of the sheet material stacked on a sheet stacking part and achieves cost reduction. SOLUTION: The sheet feeding device has: a sheet restriction member 115 for restricting the distal end in the feeding direction of the sheets S stacked on the sheet stacking part 100a; and a home position sensor 160 for detecting an end 115a of the sheet restriction member 115. The sheet restriction member 115 is moved between a restriction position for restricting the distal end in the feeding direction of the sheets S stacked on the sheet stacking part 100a and a retreating position for releasing the restriction, and the sheet restriction member 115 is positioned at the restriction position, based on a detection signal outputted from the home position sensor 160.
