The body has side door sills (10) running within an area of an outer side of a passenger car in its longitudinal direction. Door pillars (24) are fastened to the respective sills. The side door sills and the associated door pillars are connected with each other by a strap unit (26). The door pillars are formed as B-columns, which are extended over partial length of the distance between the side door sills and associated roof frame sections (16). The door pillars are formed as parts of respective side walls (14) of the passenger car, where the side walls are connected with the sills.
