PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device capable of improving dot reproducibility and reducing the dispersion of a dot size. SOLUTION: This imaging device comprises the following components: (1) a scan signal generating part 22 which generates a scan signal S1 signifying the linear breakdown of image data representing an image, (2) a transistor Tr1 which outputs drive current Ild making a laser diode LD luminous in response to the scan signal generated by the scan signal generating part 22, (3) a drive current control part 25 which sets the drive current I1d to a first current value I1 during a first set time t1 at the rising edge of the drive current I1d, to the scan signal S1 generated by the scan signal generating part 22 and after the lapse of the first set time t1, sets the drive current Ild to a second current value I2 lower than the first current value I1, (4) an adder 26, (5) an amplifier 27, and (6) a transistor Tr2.
