PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an upper handrail device on a car of an elevator, which assembles a handrail for preventing falling down mounted in an upper part of the car into an erection condition easily at maintenance work time, and suppresses a height of the handrail in a laid down condition. SOLUTION: Second handrails 3 and 4 on a rear surface side divided into the left and right are connected with first handrails 1 and 2 installed along outer peripheral parts on both sides in the upper part of the car 8 so as to rotate in the horizontal direction when the handrails are erected for the first handrails, respectively.
