<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery small in the drop of discharge capacity accompanied by charge-discharge cycles in a long-term use. <P>SOLUTION: This nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is provided with a positive electrode, a negative electrode containing a carbon material, and a nonaqueous electrolyte. The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is characterized in that the gradient of open circuit potential with respect to the variation of a charging electricity amount per unit weight of the carbon material in a charged state of the battery is not smaller than -9.5×10<SP>-4</SP>V/(mAh/g), and the real density of the carbon material is 1.55-2.15 g/cm<SP>3</SP>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
