METHOD FOR SELECTION THE OPTIMUM NUMBER OF PASS IN THE MULTI-PASS HEAT EXCHANGER

A method for selecting an optimum number of pass in a multi-ass heat exchanger is provided to evaluate thermal performance and dynamic performance of the heat exchanger for selecting an optimum number of pass to achieve high performance, thereby improving reliability and satisfaction in use. In a method for selecting an optimum number of pass in a multi-ass heat exchanger, a number of pass is selected by using a rate(D/H) between a height(H) of a header of the heat exchanger and a diameter(D) of an inlet, wherein the rate of the inlet diameter for the header height of each pass is in the range of 0.3-0.7.
