A lamp unit and a surface emitting apparatus using the same are provided to ensure uniform brightness in a display by radiating light without a broken section in the whole section of a light guide plate, thereby improving quality and advertising impact by performing a clear advertisement. Closing parts(112,122) are composed in both ends of each lamp unit(110,120), wherein lamps are not exposed. Lamp holders are positioned in the closing part of the both ends. A non-emitting area is generated in both ends of the lamp units(110,120) by the lamp holders. The non-emitting area is eliminated by attaching a sub lamp(150) to both ends of the lamp units. The sub lamp is attached to the lamp holders positioned in both ends of the lamp units(110,120).
