A vehicle alternator has its field winding 14 connected to the main windings 11-13 through one or more thyristors 34-36 the firing point of which is determined by a pair of transistors 21, 22. When the output voltage across a potentiometer 23 reaches a determined value a zener diode 24 conducts firing transistor 21 which blocks transistor 22 which in turn blocks the thyristors until the output voltage drops.</p> |
