An electronic disk device and a recording medium therefor are provided to protect a copyright more safely by allowing only a certified application program to access to a music source data storing region by using a certain authentication key of an IC chip. An electronic disk device(100) comprises a memory(140), an IC chip(155), an authentication treatment unit(360), and a memory control unit(350). The memory is divided into two regions as a music source data storing region and a general data storing region. The IC chip stores a certain authentic key to certify an application program accessing to the music source data storing region. The authentication treatment unit reads the authentication key stored in the IC chip. The authentication treatment unit certifies validity of the data received form the application program to certify an access to the music source data storing region. The memory control unit only allows the certified application program to access to the music source data storing region.
