A refuse vehicle has a detachable box body or skip 5 which rests on guide faces 3, 4 of a frame 2 of the chassis 1 and is provided with articulated eyelets 19 to enable a filled box to be removed and replaced by an empty box. Compression and feed means 12 comprising a pusher 13 and press-plate 14 is pivoted on the chassis at 11 so that it can be lowered by rams 15 to rest on the ground to allow the removal of the box 5. Pivoted flaps 8, 9, 10 cover the opening of the box during its removal and are unlocked to allow the discharge of the contents. |
