A polymer electrolyte membrane for a fuel cell, and a method for preparing the polymer electrolyte membrane are provided to reduce the crossover of fuel and to improve hydrogen ion conductivity. A polymer electrolyte membrane comprises 2-30 parts by weight of an olefin-based ionomer having a sulfonic acid group in the hydrophilic channel of a fluorine-based hydrogen ion conductive polymer membrane, based on 100 parts by weight of a hydrogen ion conductive polymer. Preferably the olefin-based ionomer comprises 2-acrylamido-2-methyl-1-propanesulfonic acid, polystyrenesulfonic acid or a repeating unit polymerized from their salt, and has a weight average molecular weight of 5,000-1,000,000. |
