A device for controlling power supply of a fuser and a method therefor are provided to successively increase input power for the initial heating of heating lamps by supplying the input power to the heating lamps by using table information of duty level values according to the time lapse of the input power when initially heating the heating lamps. A voltage detecting unit(120) detects a voltage of input power supplied for heating one or more heating lamps. A synchronous signal generating unit(130) generates a synchronous signal of the detected voltage. A switching unit(140) switches the supply of the input power supplied to the heating lamps. A control unit(150) stores table information of duty level values according to the time lapse of the input power initially supplied, and outputs a control signal for controlling the switching operation of the switching unit(140) by using the generated synchronous signal and the table information. The switching operation in response to the control signal is performed using the switching unit(140).
