A press, particularly for forming bolts and nuts, has a reciprocating slide 2 driven by a crank-shaft 9 journalled in bearings 11, 12 which are movable in the press frame 1 to provide greater access to the tools 16, 17 during servicing. The bearings 11, 12 are located in their working position by filler plate 22 and bolts 25, 26. When the filler plate and bolts have been removed the bearings may be withdrawn by a compressed air motor 29, 30; alternatively the bolts themselves may be used to withdraw the bearings.</p> |
