To program pixel transistors to conduct predetermined currents by charging/discharging parasitic capacitors of source signal lines, a relatively large current needs to be made to flow from each source driver circuit of current output type. However, if such a large current is made to flow through a source signal line, this current is programmed to flow through the pixel, and consequently a current larger than a desired current flows in the EL device (15). For example, if an N-times (N=10) current is programmed, a 10-times current flows in the El device (15), which emits light with a 10-times luminance. So as to achieve a predetermined luminance, the time during which the currents flows in the El device are set to 1/10 of one frame (1F). By thus driving the EL device, the parasitic capacitors of the source signal lines can be charged/discharged, thereby achieving a predetermined luminance. |
