A headrest having shock absorption function is provided to protect the head of a passenger from an external shock caused in driving by buffering the head of the passenger always. A buffer receiving groove(11) is recessed in the front surface of a headrest(10). The headrest(10) includes a shock absorption head(20) received in the buffer receiving groove(11) through an elastic unit. The elastic unit includes a sliding part and a buffer spring. The sliding part protrudes from the rear portion of the shock absorption head(20) such that the sliding part is inserted into the buffer receiving groove(11). The buffer spring performs a buffering operation between the buffer receiving groove(11) and the sliding part.
