A method for recording the data of a rewritable optical disk is provided to preserve the data recorded on an optical disc in an abnormal condition by recording the managing information of a recording area on an RMA(Recording Management Area). A method for recording the data of a rewritable optical disk comprises the steps of searching(S204) a starting address where the data to be recorded when a data recording command is generated from an optical disc, recording(S208) the data from the starting address of the optical disc after recording the searched starting address on an RMA area of the optical disc, searching an ending address having the data recorded from the optical disc on the basis of the starting address recorded on the RMA area if a tray eject key is manipulated, and updating(S218) the RMA area on the basis of the searched ending address.
