NONAQUEOUS ELECTROLYTE BATTERY, BATTERY PACK AND VEHICLE

A non-aqueous electrolyte battery is provided to improve input/output characteristics at a high current by increasing the capacity of an electrical double layer provided in the battery itself while avoiding a need for a separate electrical double layer capacitor. A non-aqueous electrolyte battery comprises: a cathode(3); an anode(4) comprising an anode active material(4b) having a Li intercalation potential of 0.4V (vs. Li/Li^+) or higher; a separator(5) interposed between the cathode and the anode and having a porosity of at least 50% as measured by mercury intrusion, wherein the mean diameter of the pores as measured by mercury intrusion is larger than the mode diameter and the anode has a surface roughness larger than the mode diameter; and a non-aqueous electrolyte.
