PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet material conveying device and a recording device capable of certainly performing side registration by strongly deviating it to a reference surface relative to the sheet material of a small size and performing conveying being not buckled and deformed by weakly deviating it to the reference surface relative to a sheet material of a large size. SOLUTION: The reference surface 30 for restricting a side end of the sheet material 50 is arranged. A plurality of pinch rollers have a first pinch roller arranged closer to the reference surface and generating deviation force toward the reference surface on the sheet material; a second pinch roller arranged at a position more far from the reference surface than the first pinch roller and generating deviation force toward an opposite side of the reference surface on the sheet material.
