<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out the gasification melting treatment of activated sludge mainly generated by the biological treatment of sewage highly efficiently and at a low cost, simultaneously recover phosphorous contained in sludge, and utilizing it as a fertilizer and a phosphorous raw material. <P>SOLUTION: This recovery process comprises blowing the sludge into a gas flow bed gasification melting furnace having a temperature of not less than a melting point of sludge ash from a plurality of raw material supply nozzles by air flow conveyance such that a blowing angle in a direction perpendicular to a furnace wall is 0 to 45 degrees downward and in a tangential direction of a swiveling circle coaxial with a furnace having a diameter smaller than that of 1/5 of the inner furnace of the gasification melting furnace, generating a flammable gas by partially reacting the sludge with oxygen and an oxygen enrichment gas, generating a slag containing phosphorous by melting the ash, and recovering generated flammable gas and the slag. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
