PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera and an image processing method of the camera for acquiring both a moving video image with high frame rate and a still image with high image quality at the same time. SOLUTION: From an imaging element, moving video image data and two or more still image data are generated as image data alternatively (A). During photographing of moving video image, only moving video image data are extracted from the image data and subjected to moving video image processing to record as moving video image (B). If a command of photographing of still image is given during photography of moving video image, the moving video image data and prescribed number of sheets of still image data are extracted from the image data. The moving video image data are sent to moving video image processing and two or more still images data are subjected to still image processing.
