PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solenoid and a solenoid valve capable of suppressing increase of the number of parts and man-hour of manufacture in adjustment of an initial position of a needle. SOLUTION: The linear solenoid 10 is provided with a stator composed of a first yoke 11, a core 16, and a second yoke 17, a plunger 21 arranged by opposing to the stator, an exciting coil 13 buried in the stator and generating suction force for moving the plunger onto one side in the axial direction in a suction part formed between the stator and the plunger, a case 22 connected with the first yoke to store the plunger, a first energizing means 23 for energizing the plunger onto the other side in the axial direction, and a second energizing means 24 for energizing the plunger onto one side in the axial direction to prescribe an initial position of the plunger in the axial direction by balance with energizing force by the first energizing means. The second energizing means is provided between the plunger and the case, the first yoke and the case have a connection part 26 for connecting them mutually, and the connection part can adjust amount of overlapping of them in the axial direction freely.
