PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acrylic resin excellent in waterproofing properties and dampproofing properties, hardly repelling a top coat and easily producible by an inexpensive polymerization process, and to provide a composition comprising the resin. SOLUTION: This acrylic resin is obtained by copolymerizing 0.5-24 pts.wt. of at least one kind alkyl (meth)acrylate (A), selected from an alkyl acrylic ester (a1), the alkyl group of which has 10-16 carbons and an alkyl methacrylate (a2) the alkyl group of which has 14-16 carbons, with 76-99.5 pts.wt. of a monomer (B) having an ethylenic double bond and comprising a styrenic derivative (b1) and an alkyl (meth)acrylate (b2) having≤8C alkyl group. The composition comprises the acrylic resin. The copolymerization is preferably conducted in emulsion polymerization. The composition is suitably used as a sealer for an inorganic molded member.
