The invention provides inter alia a liquid electrostatic spray composition consisting of: (i) a non-aqueous component which is substantially free of propellants and ethanol; and (ii) 0.1-25% w/w water component being water as adjuvant to modify the viscosity and/or resistivity and/or surface tension of the composition optionally together with additional electrolytes; the composition containing one or more active ingredients; and the composition having at 20°C a resistivity in the range 1 x 10³ to 1 x 10⁶ Om, a viscosity in the range 1 to 5 cP and a surface tension in the range 20-40 mN/m.
