PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of detecting a generation position, even when a vibration or an impact having a comparatively long duration is applied thereto. SOLUTION: This detection device is characterized by being equipped with a forward path side waveguide means and a backward path side waveguide means placed in parallel for sending forward and backward a polarized light wave through a returning part; a forward path side detection domain provided on the forward path side waveguide means, for changing prescribed polarized component intensity by a load; a backward path side detection domain provided on the backward path side waveguide means, for changing prescribed polarized component intensity by a load; the first light receiving part for detecting the polarized component intensity generated in the forward path side detection domain; and the second light receiving part for detecting the polarized component intensity generated in the forward path side detection domain and in the backward path side detection domain.
