PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable combing motion number larger without exceeding the critical torque limitation by improving a combing machine, wherein the machine has combing heads, each combing head has a tongue device, the tongue device is rotatably supported on a shaft to perform reciprocating motion and has a tongue shaft extending parallelly with the shaft and rotatably supported, a turning arm is fixed on the tongue shaft not to relatively turn, the turning arm is bonded with the tongue device through a proper means to be driven, and, in a region of the turnable arm and the tongue device, a compensation weight compensating swing mass of the tongue device is set so as to decrease the moment of mass inertia moment of the compensation weights. SOLUTION: The compensation weight is constituted or fixed to be positioned so that the spaces between the centers of gravity of individual compensation weights are within a region between 35 mm and 60 mm.
