摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for adjusting the length of a shaft between an engine and a propelling unit with a long-size propelling shaft incorporated in a hull. <P>SOLUTION: This method of adjusting axial length of a long shaft in a ship includes a process for forming a connecting section between ends of a plurality of propelling shafts 10 for connecting the engine 12 and the propelling unit 8 to each other, a process for arranging a hydraulic coupling 15a having a cylindrical cross section in the state that the hydraulic coupling is arranged close to any one side between the connecting blocks, a process for cutting a space shaft 15b, which is arranged inside the hydraulic coupling 15, to a predetermined length in response to a space between the ends of the two shafts 10, a process for arranging the spacer shaft 15b inside the hydraulic coupling 15a, a process for returning the hydraulic coupling 15a to the predetermined position, and a process for connecting the plurality of shafts into one by fixing the hydraulic coupling 15a to the end of each of the shafts by the necessary fastening work. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
