PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To take a photograph of a moving object easily with desired composition using an imaging apparatus by setting a region including a desired position as a monitor region. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus comprises a waiting photography condition setter for setting photography condition including at least a fixed focus point, a variation monitor 25 for monitoring the monitor region in at least a part of the imaging region by an image sensor and detecting image variation in the monitor region, and an imaging executer executing the waiting photography for obtaining an image by performing imaging under photography conditions depending on detection of image variation in the monitor region by the variation monitoring section.
