PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a car navigation system, the user of which is easily capable of discriminating the route part even in the case of parallel route from a crossing on the searched route to the prescribed region of the destination but leading to a different destination. SOLUTION: The car navigation system 1 of this invention characteristically comprises: a positioning means 2 for positioning the own vehicle position; a specification means 2 for specifying position of own vehicle on the map using the position of own vehicle and map information; a searching means 2 for searching the route from the destination input by the user and the position of the own vehicle on the map; a determination means 2 for determining whether the other parallel running route to the prescribed region of the destination leading to different destination is existing or not; and a presentation means 2 for presenting to the user by an image or the information means 2 for informing by the voice, if the parallel running route but leading to the different destination is existing.
