PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair-growing cosmetic having excellent hair-growing effects and depilation-preventing effects. SOLUTION: The hair-growing cosmetic contains a hydroxycitric acid derivative represented by formula (I) (wherein, R<SP>1</SP>is an acyl group comprising a 2-30C aliphatic or aromatic carboxylic acid residue which may have a branch, an unsaturated bond or a substituent) or a salt thereof. Preferably, in the formula, R<SP>1</SP>is an acyl group comprising an 8-24C aliphatic carboxylic acid residue which may have a branch, an unsaturated bond or a substituent, or an acyl group comprising a residue of cinnamic acid, coffeic acid or chlorogenic acid.
