A method for preparing antibacterial artificial soil is provided to obtain artificial soil applicable to a flower pot or bed having no waterway, emitting far infrared rays and anions in a great amount and having a reduced weight per unit volume. A method for preparing antibacterial artificial soil comprises the steps of: (S10) mixing 24 parts by weight of kaolin, 1-1.1 parts by weight of borax, 1 part by weight of boric acid and 1 part by weight of soda; (S12) heating the mixture in a furnace to the glass transition temperature; (S14) molding the heated mixture into a sheet shape by allowing the mixture to pass through a pair of rollers while cooling the molded sheet naturally; and (S16) crushing the cooled sheet into vitreous particles.
