The method involves determining an authentication word e.g. fingerprint, of data by applying a hashing function to the data using a cryptographic key. The data is processed to obtain a processed data by encrypting the data and the authentication word. The authentication word of 8 bits is converted into words of 6 bits. The processed data is transmitted on a transmission channel, where the channel is a data exchange channel between an aircraft and a ground base.
