REAR STRUCTURE OF VEHICLE EQUIPPED WITH CURTAIN AIRBAG SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure good developability of a curtain airbag while preventing breakage of a rear pillar trim and a side trim of a roof.

SOLUTION: A rear pillar P4 to which a rear edge part of side window glass G3 is fixed is covered with the rear pillar trim PT4 harder than a roof trim RT from the inside of a cabin. The curtain airbag KB in a storage state is arranged along an upper edge part and the rear edge part of the side window glass G3. The hard roof lateral trim RST is arranged along the upper edge part of the side window glass G3. A specified part including a predetermined end edge part 26a on the outward side in a width direction of a vehicle of a front part of the rear pillar trim PT4 is determined as a cover part 27(27') which is easily separated from the other part by a weakened portion γ1(δ) for development. The curtain airbag KB is developed in the cabin while displacing the cover part 27(27') forwardly and deforming downwardly the roof trim RT on the inner edge part side in a width direction of the vehicle of the roof lateral trim RST.
