PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an environmentally responsive gasoline composition having sufficient practical performance while reducing an olefin content to≤5.0 vol.% and a sulfur content to≤10 mass ppm, preferably≤1 mass ppm and to provide a method for producing the composition. SOLUTION: The environmentally responsive gasoline composition has a research octane number of≥90 and <96, an olefin content of≤5.0 vol.%, an aromatic content of≥20 vol.% and≤40 vol.%, an isoparaffin content of≥40 vol.% and≤80 vol.%, a sulfur content of≤10 mass ppm, and an oxygen-containing compound content of 0-15 vol.%. The method for producing the environmentally responsive gasoline composition comprises the blending of an isomerized gasoline base obtained by isomerizing the skeleton of a specific naphtha fraction with a conventional gasoline base.
