The delay time from the rotation start of a magnetic disk medium (M) to a servo pattern being read is obtained with respect to a radial position from the phase delay that the trajectory of a magnetic head (H) by a rotary actuator causes with respect to the radial direction axis of the medium (M), and is reflected to the generation delay time of a servo gate signal used at servo reading ( 1, 10, 12 ).
