<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exactly detect a failure in making a shift of an automatic transmission. <P>SOLUTION: The shift controller of the automatic transmission is provided with a means (S10) for detecting that a gear ratio becomes a first gear ratio threshold between a gear ratio corresponding to a first gear stage and a gear ratio corresponding to a second gear stage, and a means (S7) for detecting that the gear ratio becomes from the gear ratio corresponding to the first gear stage to the second gear ratio threshold set to enlarge the difference from the first gear ratio threshold. After a gear shift command for making a shift from the first gear stage to the second gear stage is outputted (S2), when a time required until reaching the first gear ratio threshold from a standard time without causing the gear ratio to become the second gear threshold is longer than a first predetermined time (S11, S14), the shift controller of the automatic transmission determines that the automatic transmission has a failure, and performs a first failure control (S9). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
