<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Hash value producing program, storage management program and storage system which can shorten Hash value calculating time. <P>SOLUTION: When a target disk is designated for calculating the Hash value, a segment separating means 1a separates the target disk into segments of a fixed length. The first Hash value calculating means 1b applies one-way Hash function to all the data columns for every separated segment to calculate the segment hash value. The second Hash value calculating means 1c sorts the segment Hash values in the segment order corresponding to the data order of the target disk data, and calculates the whole Hash value by using the one-way Hash function again to the segment Hash values sorted in the data order.
