PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly sense the optical axis deviation of a camera mounted in one's own vehicle concerned with a less processing burden by a method of template matching process. SOLUTION: A searching region setting means sets the center position of the searching region of the template matching process for sensing the target image to the prescribed most frequent position of the optical axis of a single-lens camera 2. A position specifying means specifies the position of the image in matching with the template image on the photographed image as the position of the target image by repeating the template matching process while the position of the template image as the sensing reference is dislocated to periphery from the center of the searching region on the photographed image of the camera 2.
