An air cleaning system for a vehicle is provided to purify a filter of the air cleaning system attached with harmful pollutants by ozone less than a predetermine level from a reactor, thereby maintaining fresh indoor air. An air cleaning system for vehicle comprises a reactor(100), a smoke sensor(200), an ozone sensor(300), and an air cleaning control unit(400). The reactor generates negative ion, ozone, or a fixed quantity of negative and positive ions at one time. The smoke sensor produces a first sensing signal when a pollution of the air is generated in the reactor is sensed. The ozone sensor produces a second sensing signal when more than a predetermined level of ozone from the reactor that is harmful for the human body is sensed. The air cleaning control unit receives the first sensing signal to calculate analyzed value of the concentration of polluted air and generates a first voltage signal corresponding to the analyzed value, controls the reactor to generate negative ion, ozone, or a fixed quantity of negative and positive ions automatically based on the first voltage signal, and receives the second sensing signal and transmits a second voltage signal that is to reduce the excessive quantity of ozone automatically.
