PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for displaying the discrimination number of a pair of grips to a packaging bag which contributes to investigate the cause of a trouble peculiar to a pair of the grips. SOLUTION: In a packaging machine P in which a moving body 1 equipped with a single pair g of the grips is intermittently stopped at a plurality of processes and is moved, and an article to be packaged is filled into a packaging bag b supported by each pair g of the grips, the discrimination number each given to the pair g of the grips is detected by an optical sensor 21 being a discriminating means and is stored in a controlling part of the packaging machine P. In a bag feeding process (1), the packaging bag b is fed to the pair of the grips g whose discriminating number is detected, and in printing processes (4)-(5), the discrimination number of the pair g of the grips is printed and displayed on the packaging bag by a printing means 45, based on an outputting signal from the controlling part.
