PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a maintenance method for an inkjet recorder whereby a wiping operation to a delivering surface of a recording head when using a pigment ink can be carried out surely in a stable state for a long time. SOLUTION: An ink set comprising at least one kind of the pigment ink and a clear ink which comprises at least one kind of water-soluble organic solvents as a good solvent to the pigment ink is loaded in the recording head 107. A wiper 123 is set to wipe the delivering surface 31 of the recording head where delivering openings for the pigment ink and delivering openings for the clear ink are arranged. The clear ink is delivered to the wiper from the delivering openings for the clear ink when the delivering surface is wiped by the wiper. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
